One popular and great way to make money online is by being an affiliate. If you don't know what this is, it's a person who promotes another product or service and when you refer someone to that company you make a profit. The best part is it can be done absolutely free.

Now there are probably hundreds and thousands of affiliate companies out there. Some very popular ones would be ClickBank and Amazon.com. These two that I just named have numerous different products that they have available for you to promote. Others may just be, for example, a tanning lotion company and have an affiliate link near the bottom or top of their web site. If that is the case you can sign up for that affiliate program and you would just be promoting tanning lotions.

There are also many different ways you can go about doing this type of affiliate marketing. If you already have some sort of blog or web site then you are already ahead of the game. All you would have to do then is find some affiliate programs that offer the type of things that would fit in good with the content of your site, then maybe include some links in your side bar or underneath or any where in your post.

If you don't have a web site or blog, don't worry, they are not that hard to create and you can get a blog for free. If you want to go the free route, which I'm going to assume you do then you can go to Blogger and set up a free blog. You can also Google "free blogs" and you will find other places to start a free blog.

To start a blog you will first have to think about what type of product you want to promote. It is better if this is something that you are interested in or passionate about, but it doesn't have to be. Either way you do have to pick a topic that you will write about. To get some good ideas you can go to Blog catalog and view other peoples blogs. This is also a good way to promote your blog after you finish writing it.

An even better way to go about affiliate marketing requires you spend a bit of money but I think the benefits are worth it. Choose a product that you want to promote on Click Bank, order it, and then write a type of review about how well it worked, basically promoting it to the people who read your blog. That is even an idea you can do for your blog. Your blog title could be "product reviews" and then you can have different posts about the different products you have tried out and are promoting.

You should have a minimum of five posts on your blog. You will also have to promote your blog. Do this by submiting articles to free article submission sites , like Ezine Articles. Then you would put a link to your blog in the resource box at the bottom of your article. You can submit to Blog catalog and other blog directories. You can also find other blogs about similar things and ask the web master to do a link exchange with you. This is when one person links to another persons blog and then the other reciprocates, then each have a relevant link going to their site.

Of course you will always put a link on your page, to the product your promoting.The affiliate company will give you a special referral link for your products, so that when the person comes to the site and buys the product you will get a percentage of the earnings. You could even put a link to the product on your Myspace or Facebook page or if you like to Twitter, tweet about this new product you tried out. Just be creative, the objective is to get the word out to as many people as possible.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make some extra income, if you get really good with it you could possibly supplement your income. Both of the companies that I mentioned at the top are a great place to start and they are free. You really don't have anything to loose. If you don't know anything about blogging at all you may want to do some extra research, or you can just jump in, that's what I did and now I'm writing about how to do it. Trust me it's all very easy, everything you want to know or have a question on is out there. Just Google it!

One great way to make money is by doing Incentivized Freebie Websites, or IFWs. Freebie trading is very easy and simple but a little hard to explain.This is also called GPT, which stands for get paid to. I'm sure you have seen the sites around,"get a free ipod". Most of you probably ignored them, thinking they were scams.

Actually these sites are not scams at all. They are able to do this because the companies pay them commissions for every person they bring to them. Just for example,you sign up on an IFW site and do a free offer for Netflix. Then Netflix pays the IFW site a certain amount per person that signs up on Netflix. Again that was just an example.

Luckily there is a web site that can get you started, Project Payday. They explain everything through guides and videos, they even have a mentoring program. The first 'trade' that you do, you have a personal mentor who assists you and guides you through it. You are guaranteed to make $50. You pretty much make money while your learning.

Project Payday claims on their site "realistic extra income for the average joe". This statement makes it very clear that you are not going to become a millionaire overnight. It is very nice to see a web site that is not making outrageous claims.

Project Payday is free, all you do have to do is complete a sponsor offer. Usually most offers are free trials, some you might have to pay a few dollars for shipping or some other small charge, but remember, you only have to do one offer and you can choose what ever one you want.

Project Payday also has a referral program, which is different from other referral programs that I have seen because the person you refer does not have to activate their membership. PPD will pay you for any one who fills out their name on the first page, regardless of whether or not that person completes an offer.

Project Payday includes an impressive set of training articles and videos that teache you how to make money from the various IFW or GPT sites. You’ve probably seen them around, the “get a PS3 for free” sort of site. What you generally have to do is complete one or more offers at the site, and refer some number of friends who do the same.

Project Payday shows you how to make money from these sites in three different ways.

1) Get paid to help others get their freebies.
2) Find sites that will give you cash in place of an item, and then pay others to help you get it
3) Pay others to help you get an item, and then sell it on Ebay

They also offer a mentoring program, where you can request a couple of mentors to be assigned. Mentors must be using the system successfully, so you know that you’ll get good advice.

Of course, you absolutely do not need to go through Project Payday to learn this style of money making. Have you ever heard of people taking surveys online for cash? Chances are you probably have or maybe you have even tried it yourself. Wondering if you can really make a living from doing these types of surveys? I would probably say no, well I take that back, it is possible but it would be very time consuming. Another great survey site that I highly recomend is Fusion Cash. I personally use this site to make money online almost everyday. Let's get right into the good stuff. Fusion Cash is one of the few survey sites that does have direct deposit! This obviously means that when you decide to cashout and collect your earnings you don't have to wait for a paper check or anything like that, you can just get your earnings deposited directly into your bank account. This might not be your first choice as a work from home type job but I can tell you from personal experience that it is one of the best ways to make real money at home. So if you are in a bind and need a job right away or  can't really work outside the house for some reason this is something you should really look into more. Well I thought that this was one that I had to designate it's own post because this "freebie site" is for each and every one of you reading this right now. Some of you probably don't feel like fooling around with online surveys or free trials to earn cash and prizes. Well, that's okay, but there is something out there for you! I'm sure that every person out there does searches at one time or another.

Basically, Swagbucks is an online search engine that rewards you with "swagbucks" every time you do a search through there search engine. They give the same results as Google so you are still getting good, legit information.

"Swagbucks are just like real money, pretty much. You can trade them in for anything from Amazon and Target gift cards to video games and other electronics. There are a few other ways to earn swagbucks too, like shopping. If you shop online you can go to the store through there web site and earn swagbucks for doing the exact same thing you would be doing anyway. They also have a section where you can trade things ink, such as video games and movies.

They have a toolbar that I'm sure would earn you even more points, but I have not even installed it yet and I am only a casual searcher and have already piled up a few dozen swagbucks. Did I mention that I have only been a member for less than a month?

So I would like to urge everyone to go sign up at Swagbucks. Make them your homepage(that's what I did) that way you will at least do one search every time you start up your browser. There are no tricks or catches. That is all you have to do is search and win!

In my search for ways to make money online I've been getting back into taking online surveys for cash. One of the survey companies that caught my attention is All Cash Surveys. From the name and the emails that they send to my inbox they give the impression that you are compensated with cash, money for your time. Although with further investigation of this survey company it seems that your cash payment options are very limited and have very specific criteria.

As I was looking at their site I realized that when you cash out your reward you have to pick from the "rewards" page they have. Which by the way are only two choices when you cash out at the lowest possible threshold, which is $12. Your choices are two magazine subscriptions. Then if you cash out at the next highest level you get to chose from like 6 or so different magazine subscriptions. Next level up is $50 and this is when you actually get to receive a cash reward, like the survey company leads you to believe with their name. I see no options for checks though, only Paypal and it also says that a 3 percent fee will be charged with this option. The next level that you can chose to cash out with is $200 which to me is kind of a high leap from $50 to $200, but anyhow you can't even get $200 cash! You have a choice of three different giftcards that I haven't even ever heard of before!

Now I want to be clear I am not trying to bash this company. I just wanted to write a quick post about this because I am sure that others have done this. Not paying close attention to the rewards section until you actually have made enough to get one of those rewards or to get your cash, or so you thought. Then when you get to that point and you are trying to figure out how to go about getting your money, you realize that you don't actually get real hard cash, instead you get to have a magazine subscription! If you are planning to use this site then I would say to definitely be planning to go for the $50 cash out with Paypal or really need a subscription to one of those magazines lol.

So does this sound too good to be true? Well it isn't, but it isn't a get rich quick scheme either. In fact you definitely won't get rich by this specific make money online technique but you can make extra cash for free and it could lead to other money making opportunities. Survey Spot is a survey company that offers surveys to take for cash. They are one of my favorite, mostly because they usually have good prices for their surveys. Mostly $1-$5, which is very good considering that some places only offer .50 cents per survey.

They allow you to cash out at only $5, which is extremely good compared to other sites at usually $20 or $30. They pay through a check or direct deposit. Survey Spot will send you survey invitations to your preferred email address. The surveys are specially chosen for you through your special profile survey that you take at sighn up to let them know more about you. By doing this you only get surveys that are going to allow you to complete them, and you won’t waste your time.

Survey Spot has other benefits, like drawings that they hold. I’m not sure how often but I think every week at least. Every time I take a survey for cash I also get to play a game, something like a scratch off ticket or slot machine, to see how many entries that I get in to the drawing. Many of you out there might have a blog or two, maybe you have Adsense on it or possibly not. If you want to make money then you should definitely put some sort of ads on your blog. If you don't already have a blog, that's okay. They are very easy to create.

Well there are the basics of the basics. You can learn for yourself by trial and error or you can do more research, or go to The Keyword Academy, I highly recommend them, they taught me so much and I had already been blogging for six months. It is worth it and so is blogging, it just takes time. Don't give up like most people do because they are impatient.

One way of making money very easily is by PTC (Paid To Click) sites. I personally have never put much effort in to sites like these because I feel that it would take some time to build up a decent amount of money, being that you usually only get .01 to .02 cents per click.

However I do know other people who swear by this method and do very well in it. So I guess it is all up to the individual and what sort of thing they like. Doing PTC sites are allot less time consuming than survey sites but they also pay allot more per survey. So I guess the more time you put in the more money you make, makes sense.

Some examples of PTC sites are Neobux and Clicksense. These two are both great PTC sites and are pretty much the same. There is, however, one pretty big difference. Neobux pays daily and will pay through a verified Paypal account. Clicksense on the other hand is paid on a monthly basis and only in a check form that is mailed to your home.

One good thing about these kinds of sites is that you can purchase referrals instead of having to recruit them on your own. Of course you get a certain amount of their earnings. I suspect this is the way that people are so successful with PTC sites. If you had a few hundred referrals you could really rack up some cash.

Selling things on Ebay is a great way to earn money online for just about anyone. Whether you just want to earn a little extra cash by selling items you no longer want, or you want to open an Ebay store and join an online wholesaler to buy bulk merchandise from at a smaller price and then sell it on Ebay for more, online auctioning can accomodate you!

Me personally, I have never sold things that I've bought wholesale although it's not something I'm ruling out either. I mostly sell me and my children's old clothing, shoes and other belongings on Ebay. Kids clothes is something that you almost have to buy and sell on Ebay because they grow out of the stuff so fast and then you just resell it to the next person looking for good preowned clothing and then bam, you have money to get your children their next size up in clothes!

One thing I have engaged in and wish I had more extra time to do is go to yard sales and pick up name brand kids and adult clothing and then I have went and sold it on Ebay for more. I made a nice profit! Another option though is to join an online wholesaler, which does usually cost a fee monthly, buy items from them in bulk. Buying items in bulk saves quite a bit of money. Then go to Ebay or another online auction site and sell the items for more. Some wholesalers even offer the opportunity to sell their merchandise without even actually having to handle anything at all! That means no packaging and shipping or anything! It's called drop shipping. Basically you advertise the merchandise on Ebay or any other place for that matter, and when someone buys the item you go into the drop shippers website and order the item and have it ship to whoever bought the item! I believe that some companies don't even require you to log in and purchase the item, it's all done automatically through their virtual online system. How cool is that? There is defintely a fee to do something like this and it isn't something that I can say I have personally done but I do know that it can and is done and there is definitely some good money to be made. I would just advise to do your research first about the wholesale or dropshipment company before you hand over any money at all.

As for just selling your old belongings on Ebay, there is research to be done also. First off you have to have a Paypal account, which you have to have a US bank account and credit card to use correctly. There are work arounds for this however, like online bank accounts and prepaid credit cards, so don't let any of that scare you away from your opportunity of being an Ebay powerseller.

There are also many rules on Ebay and you must follow them or Ebay will ban you indefinitely. If you do your homework and be an honest and trustworthy seller on Ebay you can make thousands of dollars! Just from the things I sell, stuff at home that I no longer need, I have made thousands of dollars! If money is tight and especially if you have children, you should be buying and selling used items on Ebay.
